Welcome! I’m Lori Pettinelli of Neatability, Inc.
WHAT MAKES NEATABILITY UNIQUE?
Within my 18-year career as an Occupational Therapist (OT), I repeatedly saw a need for this unique, hybrid service of professional organizing/coaching by a person with an additional healthcare foundation. Sometimes, busy families just need an extra, different set of helping hands to get their school-aged child back on track or their homes back in order. Other times, there may be an acute or chronic illness, injury, condition, loss or change that creates a disorganized environment or period in life. Neatability provides trusted, patient, organizational and coaching services in these specialized circumstances customized specifically for you, your school-aged child, and your ill or elderly loved one, in your home or theirs.
WHAT EXPERIENCE/SKILL CAN I BRING TO HELP ORGANIZE YOUR SCHOOL-AGED CHILD?
Legible, skilled handwriting is a foundation to school success. It is the first place Neatabilty starts with many students to facilitate a solid beginning. In addition, my students and their parents have often required support with coaching their child in organizational skills such as: developing a system for filing school papers, labeling subject (Math, Language Arts, Science, etc.) folders, placing papers into the proper folders, de-cluttering overflowing folders, organizing binders, backpacks, desks, lockers, and all school supplies. My goal is to eliminate missing/incomplete or illegible assignments. I have extensive experience working with students with ADHD that may make organizational skills extra challenging but very possible, with individualized, specialized, experienced support.
WHAT EXPERIENCE/SKILL CAN I BRING TO HELP ORGANIZE YOUR DISABLED, ILL, INJURED OR ELDERLY LOVED ONE?
Broken hips. Shoulder replacements. Spinal fractures. Wrist fractures. Black eyes. These are just a few of the conditions I have personally witnessed as a result of unsafe environmental barriers in homes. When working in facilities or in client homes, it became clear there is a need for an organized, safe environment to promote easier access to items used on a regular basis and for accident prevention. Although my purpose when working with people in the capacity as an OT was to maximize their physical strength and functioning, most often, the environment needed attention. Very loving children or family with great intentions wanted this, but lived out of town or are part of the “sandwich generation” trying to raise their own children, work and could not be present as often as they would like to provide the required organizational and environmental maintenance. Neatability gets it and is here to help.
WHAT EXPERIENCE/SKILL CAN I BRING TO HELP YOU GET ORGANIZED IN YOUR HOME?
As a member of the National Association of Professional Organizers, I have the additional know-how to help you get and stay organized in every area of your home. I know you have seen it, the plaque that reads: “Someday, I’m going to get organized.” That someday is today, if you will place your trust in me. Remember, this is a judgement-free service, totally confidential, super patient and fully insured. And yes, to answer your question, I have seen homes as disorganized as yours. You are not alone. Promise.
